Special Note: In order for a damper to do the best job of damping engine harmonics, a heavy inertia ring is desired. However, for racing applications, some damping can be sacrificed if light weight is the goal. For most other applications, use the heavier model if there is a choice. For example, for the SB Chevy we offer a 6" damper, a 6-3/4" damper and an 8" damper. The 8" damper will provide the best damping of engine harmonics and if you have the room, that's the one you should use unless weight is a factor.
